Delhi will introduce a law to regulate coaching centers, addressing infrastructure, fees, and teacher qualifications.

On Monday, Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi had said the AAP government will bring in a law to regulate coaching centers after three IAS aspirants died of drowning at one such center's basement. A committee of officials and students will make recommendations on various issues such as infrastructure, the qualifications of teachers, fee regulation and advertising for drafting a Coaching Institute Regulation Act. The MCD has also sealed basements of 30 centres and issued notices to 200. In the Old Rajinder Nagar fatalities, a preliminary report released by MCD blamed encroachments in drainage area. The magisterial probe report is set to be finished within six days. The junior engineer who was supposed to keep encroachments at bay has been sacked, and the Assistant Engineer shown the door.
