18 coaches of Howrah-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur, Jharkhand. 2 dead, 20 injured. Rescue operations underway.
On Tuesday early hours, as many as 18 coaches of the Howrah-CSMT Express jumped off tracks in Bara Bambu village near Chakradharpur. The 3:45AM derailment killed two people and injured about 20 others. As per the report, ambulances and rescue teams responded rapidly. The injured were provided first aid by the Railways' medical team. ---The derailment is under investigation. A special train was arranged for all of the passengers. Howrah-Barbil Express, Howrah-Kantabaji Ispat Express and Kharagpur-Dhanbad Express were also cancelled in the wake of the incident.
