More than 25,000 people applied for just 2,216 airport loader jobs at Mumbai airport following a recruitment drive by Air India which escalated into near-stampede scenes. The flood of applicants created chaos; some found themselves waiting for hours without access to food or water. LOADERS These are directly involved in the handling of bags, loading and unloading. The minimum qualification required for the job was graduation but candidates like BBA student Prathameshwar, and many others who were even higher degree holders traveled hundreds of kilometers to get employed 10 sitting far from abusing unemployment epidemic. It is the same case of Gujarat again. An MP from Mumbai in the Congress said that "the unemployment situation has become such a disaster, with desperate people looking for jobs". Indianexpress cannot independently verify the authenticity of this video or other videos doing rounds in social media, and Air India is yet to respond on the matter.
