Arvind Kejriwal receives interim bail but remains in jail due to CBI detention in the excise policy corruption case.


On July 12, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in excise policy scam case. Kejriwal's plea against his ED custody referred to larger bench by Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta Observing this, the court said that arrest cannot be made by merely questioning and referred to over 90 days in jail custody of Kejriwal. However, he is presently lodged in Tihar Jail on the CBI remand related to corruption case. The Supreme Court had earlier granted him interim bail till June 1, but barred his entry into official premises.
