 Waterlogging from heavy rains in Pune causes three electrocutions, triggering rescue operations and safety measures.


Heavy rains have triggered waterlogging, leading to the death of at least 3 people in Pune. Rescue operations were carried out by city fire department with assistance of two National Disaster Response forces, in Ekta Nagar. Pune Collector Suhas Diwase ordered a 48-hour closure of tourist spots, while traffic on flood-prone bridges was limited. They're asking residents to stay indoors or in cars, a practice known as sheltering-in-place. PUNE: Incessant rains lashed Pune and Kolhapur leading to flooding, while normal life was thrown out of gear on Sunday with heavy showers expected in the coming days. Related Schools are shut in Pimpri-Chinchwad while some residential flats flooded.
