Three UPSC aspirants died in a flooded Delhi coaching center basement. Incident sparks political blame over negligence.

A basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar collapsed, trapping three UPSC aspirants. During the downpours (while OF course), a drain blew and flooded our basement. The Delhi Fire Services had received an emergency call at 7 PM on Saturday following which five fire tenders were rushed to the spot along with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) divers. Although quickly arriving, the basement flooded with 10-12 feet of water interfering in rescue efforts. Search and rescues had recovered two bodies by 10:30 PM fand another around 11:20 PM. The incident created a political controversy of its own, with the BJP blaming what it called an act of negligence on AAP's part. In another incident, a youth killed due to electrocution at waterlogged South Patel Nagar when he was passing through. PWD Minister Atishi demanded strict action against the guilty parties.
