Upcoming farmers are preparing to celebrate 200 days of their protest at the Shambhu border and planning to organize a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Khanauri on August 31 followed by public gathering at Shambhu and Ratanpura. The event should be attended and Vinesh Phogat the wrestler should graced the occasion. The farmers have been camped at Shambhu since February 13 to press their demand for providing legal cover to MSP for all varieties of crops among other things.
As a farmer leader jackhammering the intensiveness of peaceful protest, Sarwan Singh Pandher pointed out that the demands are still unsolved and a 200-day mark achieved. He said they will be going to the government to present their demands and also making further annuncements of actions.
The demonstrations that are continuing in the Haryana which is in election year are against the BJP government. Farmer organizations say they are going to hold several ‘mahapanchayats’ to create an understanding of their myself. The protests are under the ambit of the Samyuk Kisan Morcha, SKM , and its offshoots the SKM ( Non Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha KMM.
Citing the effect of such protests in recent Lok Sabha elections as well as its effect on rural voters, Abhimanyu Kohar of SKM (NP). The SKM has set more ‘Mahapanchayats’ in September to continue with the make preparations. The next Haryana assembly elections shall therefore come with various Political dynamics whereby, the BJP, Congress, AAP, and other regional Parties are major favorites controlling the electoral turf. The elections are to be held on October,1 while the preliminary results of the elections are to be announced on October, 4.
