Last May, the SSLV-D3 Third and Final Developmental flight announced the entry of India's rocketry into a new chapter depicting growth. The mission achieved its target successfully by putting two satellite, EOS-08 and SR-0 DEMOSAT into their desired orbits. ISRO Chairman S. Somanath said the rocket flew absolutely as expected, with no abnormalities seen during flight only that study succeeded in its mission quandary. With this success, SSLV moves from development to its operational phase with future commercial launches. The mission reiterates ISRO's commercial missions that it has planned, and the SSLV was designed to carry small satellites. EOS-08 satellite will carry state-of-the-art technologies for important earth observation and remote sensing applications. This mission demonstrates the commitment and capability of team ISRO.
