There are several major economic releases that concern India’s economy that are due in the following months. For the current financial year, the QS will release the 2023-24 PLFS in September, and the 2022-23 ASI in the same month. These reports are very important when it comes to analyzing the creation of new jobs and the unemployment rate within the country as well as the status of a number of manufacturing industries.

In this regard, in December, Ministry of Statistics has planned to issue basic factsheet for 2023-24 on Annual Survey on Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) and Household Consumer Expenditure Survey (HCES) with detailed annual report in January 2025. The results of these surveys will avail information on informal sector enterprises, consumer expenditure and economic development. Another source of data on unpaid work is the Time Use Survey report, which should be published by March 2025 and cover data on time distributed to various activities.

The information in these reports will be used by the government to direct policy, especially in area of targeting schemes and in the indexation of the CPI. The report of the programme of Library and Faculty Science (PLFS) which is one of the most important symbols of employment status had shown the unemployment rate to be reduced to 3. But the proportion has dropped to 2% in 2022-23 from 6% of in 2017-18. The next two reports which are being expected are expected to give a general physical flow of Indian economy.
