During the meeting in Warsaw on Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a talk with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on ways to enhance the bilateral cooperation. Modi who formally was given a protocol welcome underscored the importance of the present visit as the first Indian Prime Minister in the last 45 years to Poland. Before the press, Modi recalled that during the military conflict in Ukraine in 2022, Poland showed its hospitality and help in saving many Indian students.

Modi said that India and Poland are moving toward the strategic level in their bilateral cooperation stressing on the similar political system and principles such as democracy and rule of law. He also recognized Poland has a strong history of Indology and Sanskrit and launched the Jam Saheb Nawanagar Youth Action Programme to boost the relation in this field.
Poland will become the EU President in the first half of the year 2025, on which Mr MODI too was very positive for the India-EU relations. Speaking more to the global conflicts, Modi reaffirmed India’s stance on dialogue and diplomacy to solve unrests and conflicts. The external endorsement of India’s democracy was evident when Tusk applauded India’s democratic policy and congratulated Modi for his success in the elections. The meeting stressed that the both countries continue the development of cooperation, at the end of the meeting, both leaders looked to the future with confidence.
