PM Modi visits Wayanad to review the impact of devastating landslides, meet survivors, and assess ongoing relief efforts.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reached Kerala to take stock of flood situation in the aftermath of massive landslide at Wayanad. He reached the area after taking a helicopter from the international airport at around 11 am. In Wayanad, Modi will be given project presentations by relief groups and doctors at a camp before he visits the affected to kin of Kavalappara where 44 are still believed trapped; review meeting scheduled The death toll from the landslides, in which at least 226 people have been killed with numerous others missing, happened on July 30. It is regarded as one of the worst natural catastrophes in recent history in Kerala.
