Punjab Police Uncover Revenge Plot Behind NRI Shooting in Amritsar; Ex-Wife's Family Arrested

Punjab Police reveal NRI's shooting was a revenge plot by his ex-wife's family; five arrested, including victim's former in-law.


Amritsar: On the sunday Punjab Police surfaced the truth that the shooting on a Non Resident Indian from USA which occurred at his farmhouse near Amritsar was a pre-planned act of revenge by the family of his ex-spouse. The family is located in the US too and according to the police reports, they collectively hired local thugs who were supposed to commit the act. Five suspects have been apprehended among them being the father of the victim’s ex-wife, according to the report. The reason for the commission of the crime was tension existing between the two NRI families. To be out of danger, the wounded NRI, Sukhchain Singh, is said to bear. 


Ex-wife of the singer Payal Rohatgi has accused fourth a BCccomplice Kumail Preem of plotting to murder Singh by paying a ‘supari’ or hit man and financing the murder from abroad, according to Commissioner of police Ranjit Singh Dhillon. “We are very close to arresting the assailants,” he said adding that the case has been solved and the culprits will soon be apprehended. The police detained the victim’s father in-law in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab as well as the hotel manager at Amritsar where one of the accused had booked a room. 


The police also followed the money trail that is associated with the crime in question. Singh who was attacked by the gunmen on a motorcycle was gunned down in front of his family and children. One shot him on the head and missed the brain while the other shot him on the arm. Singh was critical and he was taken to a private hospital in Amritsar.
