Over 1,300 rescuers, including the Indian Army and volunteers, are searching for survivors in Kerala's Wayanad district.


Nearly 200 still missing after hundreds killed in Kerala's Wayanad due to deadly landslides. Rescue teams have been trying to locate survivors using deep search radars. It said over 1,300 rescuers including the army, Kerala police and fire department personnel are part of ongoing efforts. However, efforts are being hampered by massive logs and boulders. The rescue operations will be headed by actor Mohanlal. US President Joe Biden offered his "support" to the rescue teams and sent condolences. Radar, drone-borne will be used to locate survivors. But the mountainous terrain and lack of equipment meant more than 200 others were injured. Although some areas are still unapproachable and the full scale of damage is not yet known, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said.
