SC grants bail to Manish Sisodia, citing his 17-month incarceration without trial; AAP hails the decision as a victory.

In the Delhi excise policy case, bail to AAP leader and former Deputy CM of New Delhi Manish Sisodia was granted by SC. The court directed him to surrender his passport and not create any influence on the witnesses. He will also have to furnish a personal bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties in like amount. The court said that the accused, who was kept inside jail for 17 months without trial, were deprived of their right to a fair and fast justice process. Aam Aadmi Party sang 'Satyamev Jayate after the decision, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said in a tweet that it is victory of truth and attacked central government The Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to Singh and said he will be released from jail if not wanted in any other case.
