SC upholds NEET-UG 2024, citing no systematic breach; mandates reforms and report by September 30 amid irregularities.

The Supreme Court had on August 2 refused to quash the NEET-UG for this year over fears of a paper leak, stating that no systematic breach occurred. A bench presided over by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud said 44 candidates had secured full marks despite anomalies. The court, which also dismissed the plea for a re-test besides directing that more stringent measures be taken by NTA and Centre "for conduct of exam next year", passed its order on Wednesday. By 30 Sept, a report on NEET reforms would be submitted by the panel of experts led by Bhagat Singh Koshyari (on left) and Radhakrishnan. The panel has been given the responsibility of inculcating these technology driven initiatives and framing SOPs to smoothen out the examination process.
