UPPRPB releases admit cards for the re-conduct of the 2024 Police Constable exam; 5 lakh candidates to appear.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is going to release the Police Constable Recruitment admit cards for the examination to be held in 2024 today which was earlier canceled for some reasons like the COVID-19 pandemic, etc. , and later protestations by the contenders. The candidates, who have appeared for registration of the exam, can download their hall tickets also from exam website through their user IDs. A notification on the UP Police website states that admit cards would be released three days prior to the exam: UP Police is proposing to hold the examination in two shifts from August 23 to 25 and again from August 30 to August 31 because August 25 is Janmashtami. This re-test will be held to fill about 60244 constable posts for which roughly about five lakh candidates will take examination. Some of the tests employed include a written aptitude test, physical able body test, documentary review and medical examination. Candidates who successfully write the examination shall go through the other steps of the selection exercise. With a view of motivating the candidates the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation shall be providing free transport facility of any existing bus to any candidate appearing for the exam. They have to produce their admit cards to the bus conductor and also carry printed copies of the admit card, two each, for the journey to the exam Centre and back after the exam. This was occasioned by leakage of papers that were expected to be administered to candidates on 17th and 18th February. But, at that time UP police was under the command of Yogi Adityanath the CM of Uttar Pradesh. He ordered the UP Police to re-conduct the examination within six months mentioning that there was a need of purging the process of recruitment. They averred that more than 240 students were arrested for instance when they wanted to feign a disease or a way of fraudulently gaining a chance to have a redo at the previous test. The scrapped examination had reached out to more than 4. 8 million candidates, 15,91,015 were women, who sat for examination in 2835 testing centres located in 75 districts of UP.
