At least 20 people had been killed and over 450 others wounded in Lebanon after the blast of the hand-held radios or the walkie-talkie reportedly being used by the Hezbollah terror group. The blasts took place in different areas such as Baalbek and the attack was only a day prior to this one that was purported to have been done by Israelis on the communications equipment of Hezbollah. A video that was taken from Baalbek revealed one such device go off in a residential building.

These explosions are contributing to a series of fires in a researched volatile area due to the on going Gaza tension which has culminated in a death toll of over 32 with over 3000 cases recorded. Fire fighters attended several scenes, where they tried to put out fires that occurred affecting about sixty dwellings, fifteen vehicles as well as several motorcycles.

Another firm by the name Gold Apollo Co. , based in Taiwan, associated the devices with BAC Consulting Kft, a Hungarian manufacturing firm. Still, Hungary pointed that BAC is just a trading house with no production in Hungary at all.

One of those blasts targeted Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, taking him in a serious condition. Lebanon’s Information Minister, Ziyad Makari, pointed at Israel as the possible perpetrator of the attacks while hinting at the collaboration with Hezbollah on the technicalities of the attack.

In this regard, as tensions rose, the Israeli forces have stepped up military presence on the Lebanese border. Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant said it could deteriorate and premier Benjamin Netanyahu spoke of defending the people of the north and hinted at military action against Hezbollah party. Till date, for the series of blasts Israel has not issued any official statement.
