Security forces neutralized 3 terrorists at Kathua-Basantgarh border following a gunfight, reinforcements deployed

Security forces lost three terrorists after an exchange of fire on September 11 in the Kathua-Basantgarh border in J&K. He added that acting on specific intelligence operational forces conducted an operation in the Kathua region. They explained that contact was made with the terrorists in the area thus leading to the exchange of fire, to this the Public Relations Officer for Defence in Jammu gave affirmation.

This development has come in after Pakistan had violated a ceasefire earlier today at the Jammu border – one BSF personnel was injured in firing the Akhnoor sector near the international border.

At the same time the second meeting happened in the higher terrain of Udampur – Basantgarh region. This is perhaps one of the defining moments when security forces – the Army’s First Para unit and the local police – were in the process of-searching for terrorists when the latter began firing. This exchange of gunfire started at about 12. 50PM thereby forcing security forces to respond. Increased force has been sent to the forest in order to eliminate the other terrorists that had remained inside.

Jammu and Kashmir would begin balloting on September 18 and the results are scheduled for October 8, which have given a security concern to the region.
