The AAP’s Punjab unit announced first list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Haryana assembly polls on a day it continues to remain stuck in a political stalemate with the Congress over seat-sharing pact. The AAP had wanted to fight in 10 seats as part of the alliance and sources said, Congress had only agreed to provide three.

In the first list as candidate, AAP has given ticket to Anurag Dhandha of Kalayat, Pawan Fauji of Uchana Kala, Indu Sharma of Bhiwani and Bijendra Hooda of Rohtak. Earlier, AAP’s state unit chief Sushil Gupta said that AAP will declare its nominees for all 90 seats if no alliance formula was finalised by evening. The deadline for filing nominations is 12th September while the elections are planned to be held on 5th of October.

The major concern of the two parties in the alliance has been the number of seats in which AAP would be willing to field its candidates. The AAP’s MP, Sanjay Singh said that the list of candidates has been finalized; however, the national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal has to approve it.

Raghav Chadha who has been in talks with congress both the parties are ostensibly in a bid for making a grand alliance for Haryana polls that aligns on a common cause rather than personal interest.
