On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah came down heavily on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that he is siding with anti-India forces. The influence of Shah was that Gandhi and his party continuously unleash statements that are unfavorable to the national interest.

Shah’s comments came after Gandhi’s recent visit to the US during which he provided stinging remarks on Modi and his administration. To a post on X, Shah cited that Gandhi supported “anti-national” stand on the Jammu and Kashmir issue and comments on abroad are a threat to national security. He went further to accuse the Congress for fueling regionalism, religion and language as causes of division.

This kind of disruption annoyed Americans who heard Gandhi speak on reservations and his reply was; We will like to end reservations when India is a racially balanced state. ‘Governance is weak; Democracy is not alive in this country,’ he pointed out the dearth of a voice for the downtrodden, college scholarship for Dalit students, a caste survey among other issues.

Shah counter attacked Gandhi by accusing him of exposing Congress’s ‘anti-reservation stance’ and ensured that BJP will safeguard reservation for the backward classes. He said, “Till BJP is in power reservations are going to remain sacred, nobody is going to compromise on security. ”

Shah’s remark also echoed the BJP’s pro-reservation stance while blaming Congress for trying to sabotage the same.
