Originally, the US was to host this year’s Quad Summit, but due to an unavailability of leaders’ calendar, India consented to host the next Quad Summit in 2025. Before the Quad meeting, Biden had a meeting with Modi and, during it, the two leaders ratified the strategic alliance between the US and India. The two leaders also stressed the focus of their cooperation in defence, security, democracy and human rights. They spoke approvingly of the progress made in the area of the Major Defense Partnership saying they expect it to only strengthen further.
Joe Biden’s statement and Narendra Modi’s promise of further Quad meetings indicate that the organization plays a critical role in maintaining order and stability in the zone. By demonstrating the continuity of the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership agreed in 2016 between the United States of America and the Republic of India, the meeting further affirmed that.
