Union Home Minister Amit Shah kicked started BJP poll campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on September 6 by unveiling the party’s charter of governance. Shah also talked about Article 370 saying that it is history and will never come back, thereby asserting the importance of the abrogation in regard to the nation and the region.

Perhaps, it is for the reason that Shah described the last decade of BJP rule as the ‘Golden period’ for Jammu and Kashmir stating that it was peaceful, progressive, and developed. Of the main goals spelled out in the manifesto, Shah emphasized eradicating terrorism and separatism, raising women’s financial independence, and personalization.

Also, For Rajouri, Next tourist destination is planned to develop where 5 lakh employments are expected for the region. They also promised to develop fresh tourist destinations at Jammu besides addressing concerns of the affected persons, which includes the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. The new Tika Lal Taploo Visthapit Samaj Purativas Yojana (TLTVPY) will be launched for the purposes of the safe and phased repatriation and rehabilitation of the genuine Kashmiri pandit migrants.

Since Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territory last year in 2019, the upcoming assembly elections are scheduled in three phases on 18th September, 25th September and 1st October. The voting will be held in October 8 to evaluate the votes.
