Gunmen fired shots near Donald Trump at the Trump National Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, his team says. Police authorities have also held a suspect and a weapon, according to local sources of police in that area. Trump, who was golfing at the time with his Secret Service detail, was not injured. The identity of the shooter remains unknown as well as the reason for his action although some reports indicated that the shots could have been meant for Trump.

An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement. The Trump campaign has released a statement confirming former President Trump is safe.

This was after Donald Trump Jr. posted the news on a social platform, X (formerly twitter) that an AK-47 rifle was located near the exit of the course where Trump was at. Very soon, the White House suffice it, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been briefed on the matter. Timelines Biden condemned political violence he drew out that everything means were employed to shield Trump. Harris also hailed the quieter end to the year in part because nothing bad happened to Trump.
This comes close on the heels of a previous such attack two months ago in which Trump was felled in a Pennsylvania rally. Later the US Secret Service received much criticism which led to the resignation of head of the agency Kimberly Cheatle and suspension of five agents.
