Offending continued on Sunday with heavy rains experienced in most part of telangana and Andhra Pradesh including Hyderabad. TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy conducted a review meeting with ministers and officials and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned the people of the situation and advised the officials to be more cautious and alert and also directed the officials to extend their required support.
The day also witnessed heavy rains in Hyderabad where there was reports of water logging all over the city. The Meteorological Centre sated that Hyderabad and the neighboring districts will experience moderate to heavy rains and wind speed up to 50 kmphs. Red alert has been sounded for several districts in Telangana with possibility of extremely heavy rain.
Due to this kind of weather, most schools in Hyderabad had to be shut down among the preventive measures. Train operations were also affected in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states because the railways tracks were flooded thereby calling off more than twenty train operations while over thirty other train services were rerouted. Telephone numbers including helpline numbers were established for the residents.
As for the general public, low-lying residents were being reminded to be alert and to call in the event of incidents. All the ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs were warned to remain in their own areas and extend their cooperation for the rescue operations. A control room set up in the state Secretariat was also put in place to offer real time monitoring of the situation respectively.
