India has reacted sharply to Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif remarks on Jammu and Kashmir in the United Nations General Assembly. Responding to Sharif’s statements, Indian diplomat Bhavika Mangalanandan, using the right of reply asserted that this is “probably the most blatant hypocrisy the world has come across,” while pointing the finger to Pakistan’s cross-border terrorism and internal riots.
Mangalanandan accused Pakistan of occupying Jammu and Kashmir against people’s will and alleged that Pakistan has used terrorism to target India for decades and India’s parliament, among other things and civilians, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. She said that Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India and asked Pakistan not to support terror acts as such activities will cost them dearly.
Mangalanandan also vilified Pakistan for bearing genocide in Bangladesh in 1971 and the extra judicial killing of minorities. She noted that Pakistan has been accommodation terrorist, including Osama bin Laden and its relations with global terrorism.
India strongly refused the effect of Sharif’s comments describing it as ‘unacceptable’ and reiterated its position that Kashmir issue is internal affair of India. Sharif had asked the government to repeal the black law saying that the state of kashmir was similar to the palestine issue. But India again and again emphasised that all attempts of Pakistan to bring the Kashmir issue to the international level have failed.
