An ICG helicopter was caught in a storm and crash-landed in the Arabian Sea near Porbandar in Gujarat; at least three people are missing now. The helicopter was airborne around 11 pm which was dispatched for the purpose of evacuating an injured crew member from a tanker, at about 45 nautical miles off Porbandar.

The Coast Guard announced that although one man was rescued the search for three other crew members is continuing. It happened when the helicopter was in the process of evacuating the crew during cyclonic condition in Gujarat recently.
The Coast Guard has also found wreckage of aircraft. In wake of the disaster, the ICG has mobilized 4 ships and 2 aircrafts in efforts to search for the survivors. SAR operations are being conducted for the recovery of the lost members on board with the mission ongoing under some harsh weather situation as stated earlier.
