According to Vikram, Mukti Ranjan Rai, the main accused in the murder of the 29 years old Mahalakshmi, had confessed about his crime to his mother before killing himself. Odisha police hands said that Rai had a love interest in Mahalakshmi but, he said that she took a provocative to frame him in a kidnapping case. Rai was found hanging from a tree in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on September 25, four days after Mahalakshmi’s severed body was recovered from a refrigerator in Bengaluru.
Mahalakshmi, a woman separated from her husband and is working, was dismembered into 59 parts in her flat. The three-year-old Rai confessed to his mother that he had murdered Mahalakshmi by weeping bitterly at home. He said he felt frustrated over the large money he had given her hence the result of the crime.
Investigators also recovered another note in which Rai expressed his desire to commit suicide and at the same admitted to having killed his wife. Rai and Mahalakshmi, the couple, are employees of a mall in Bengaluru city that served as the site of the research. But their relationship agitated when Mahalakshmi came pressurizing Rai for marriage and they use to fight very often.
The police think it occurred between September 2 and 3, with Mahalakshmi’s corpse found by her mother on September 21.
