Prabhas was born as Prabhas Raju Uppalapati and is one of the most famous actors of Indian origin working in the Telugu film industry. He is the nephew of the well known actor of Telugu films, Uppalapati Krishnam Raju. In the year 2015, Prabhas starred in the movie, Baahubali, which is one of the highest grossing movies of Indian cinema and later reprised his titular role in Baahubali 2: The conclusion (2017), it became the first Indian film in the history of Indian cinemas which has completed the journey of 1000 crores INR at box office. The tremendous star that is Prabhas today not only enjoys a huge followership all over the country of India but for the years in the field has been given several nick names by his fans though which include Mr. Perfect, Pubsi and Prabha.

Early Life


Born to Siva Kumari and the famous Telugu director and producer, Uppalapati Suryanarayan Raju, Prabhas is the youngest amongst his siblings: He has a elder brother Pramod and sister Pragathi.

Acting Career



Following his success with Varsham, Prabhas` next movie was highly anticipated. However, his next movie, Adavi Ramdu (2004), received negative reception at the box office and and failed to live up to the audience`s expectation.Born to Siva Kumari and the famous Telugu director and producer, Uppalapati Suryanarayan Raju, Prabhas is the youngest amongst his siblings: He has a elder brother Pramod and sister Pragathi, he belongs to the middle class family.
Acting Career
Southeast Asia’s popular actor Prabhas tasted his first hit in the Telugu film industry through his movie Eeshwar in 2002. Still, many expectations were pinned on the movie but it could not attract the audiences and it was called as `an average hit’. Similarly, Prabhas could not make his mark at the box office even with his second movie. His second movie Raghuvendra which he acted through the year 2003 was also disappointingly received by viewers. Yet his second movie which was Varsham released in 2004 opposite Trisha Krishnan and Gopichand became commercially successful. Varsham brought the stardom in Telugu film industry and Prabhas also got the best young performer award in Santosham Film Awards while his pair Trisha got Filmfare award for best actress for the movie.

After Varsham hit making everybody go gaga over the character Prabhas got type casted and there was a lot of buzz over his next movie. But his next work in Adavi Ramdu (2004) was less successful and could not satisfy the audience as well as earlier fares.

In the year 2005, Prabhas starred in S.S. Rajamouli`s Chatrapati, which ran for over a 100 days at around 54 cinema theaters. It was a huge hit and his screen presence was highly praised. However, for a second time in a row in his career, Prabhas followed a hit with a movie which disappointed his fans. His next release in 2006, Pournami, proved to be a failure at the box office.

In the year 2005 Prabhas acted in S.S.Rajamouli ‘Chatrapati’ and had a 100+ days run in about 54 cinema theatres. It was liked a lot and his persona on screen was much appreciated. Still, as it has been mentioned above, for the second time in his career Prabhas released a hit after the movie which disappointed his fan. His next release in 2006 Pournami could not do well and was washed out in theater.

Following this Prabhas acted in couple of romantic com-edy films Darling (2011), Mr Perfect (2012) and then he acted in an action oriented movie Rebel (2014) directed by Raghava Lawrence. The same year he made his Bollywood debut with a cameo role in an Indian full on action comedy movie Action Jackson, directed by Prabhudeva and starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, and Yami Gautam. Prabhas followed this with two blockbuster hits - Mirchi (2013) and Baahubali: The Beginning (2015). The latter was the highest grossing movie of the year and it also earned the National Film Award for Best Special Effects. For his role in the film the actor had to diet, he hardly took any food and when he did, it was approximately 40 egg whites each day he also received special lessons in rock climbing. The highest paid actor in the Telugu industry reprises his role in the second installment of the Baahubali franchise, which is titled Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which hit the stands in April of 2017. His releases the movie in 2019 include Saaho. He then went on to work in Radhe Shyam (2022), Adipurush (2023), Salaar (2023) and Project K (2023).
