Rahul Gandhi Urges India to Reclaim Global Manufacturing to Tackle Unemployment Crisis

Detailing on the issue in his speech at the University of Texas in Dallas, Rahul Gandhi argued that lower unemployment rates were possible due to China’s achievements in manufacturing that ensured that the country remained ahead of India and other developing World and Western countries. He said that to tackle increasing unemployment, India needs to get back into the manufacturing arena. According to Gandhi, the West and countries in the similar league, inclusive of India, have shifted manufacturing to other countries like China, Vietnam and Bangladesh; Nonetheless, India cannot afford to let go of this sector in order to avoid social vices. 

 

 He said that India is not short of human capital but under ResourceManager it fails to appreciate and tap human talent. Gandhi also want increase focus on vocational training in order to provide connection of education to business world. He further explained that without a solid ground in manufacturing, people will remain jobless resulting to further social evils in India and western nations. 

 

 Nevertheless, Gandhi does not lose hope for India and states that Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, for example, have already shown that they can level the manufacturing industry. He further started concluding by suggesting that India can match the production capabilities of China if the efforts are ensured to be stepped up besides integrating.
