Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) will become the most developed state in India, and an environment will be created where people from Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) will want to join India. Addressing a rally in Ramban, Singh said the government is committed to J&K's development and emphasized that Article 370, which was abrogated in 2019, will not be reinstated. Singh highlighted that peace has been restored in J&K after the abrogation, and the region is progressing rapidly.

He also criticized the National Conference and Congress for their statements about bringing back Article 370, assuring that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would never allow it to happen. He called on voters to elect a BJP government, promising to make J&K the most developed state in the country.

Singh also remarked that the people of PoJK are treated as foreigners by Pakistan, while India considers them as their own. Speaking on India-Pakistan relations, he asserted that dialogue with Pakistan would only begin when it stops supporting terrorism in J&K. Singh mentioned that most victims of terrorism in the region have been Muslims, and he stressed that peace can only be achieved when terrorism is curtailed.

Singh also claimed that during a recent visit to the U.S., many asked about J&K’s assembly elections, and he predicted a BJP victory in the region.
