Rishabh Pant Returns to India's Test Squad for Bangladesh Series After 20-Month Injury Layoff

Gadget-keeper, Rishabh Pant comes back to the Test squad of India after nearly 20 months of his absence due to car crash injuries. In the first Test series to be held in Bangladesh from September 19, BCCI has officially declared the players list for the first Test. The cricket squad will be led by Rohit Sharma while Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will also be part of the team. Debutantes: Young pacer Yash Dayal got selected for the Indian team and there is also a place for Akash Deep. 

 Pant, who was the recent one in the second test against Bangladesh in December 2022, have had a taste of competitive cricket in this year’s IPL. Still there was some surprising exclusion and one of them was Mohammed Shami who was not drafted in the team as expected from the selection committee. 

 

 The Indian Test cricket season starts with the first Test at Chennai while the second Test will be played from September 27 to October 1 at Kanpur. In the test cricket India holds the upper hand over Bangladesh, India and Bangladesh have played 13 tests with India winning 11 and the remaining two have been tied. 

 

 Bangladesh arrives in the series fresh from a series win that knocked Pakistan to a 2-0 loss while India last played a Test cricket series against England this year where they triumphed 4-1.
