As there has been a stir on issue of adulteration in the famous Tirupati laddoos, the Chandrababu Naidu led newly formed Andhra Pradesh government has formulated a 9 member Special Team Investigation (SIT). According to Laddu Naidu they have been mixed with animal fat including beef tallow, lard and fish oil by the Tirumala Temple as established from a report from a private laboratory in Gujarat. The report also suggested the usage of palm oil, soya bean and other oils in the ghee used.
The SIT which will be headed by the Range Inspector General of Police, Guntur Sarvashreshth Tripathi will now look into these allegations and any other malpractices that might have taken place at Tirumala during the previous YSR Congress government. In case, the team can call certain officials from several government departments, or it can appeal to external advisers.
The SIT comprises of important police officers such as DIG for Visakhapatnam Range, Gopinath Jatti; SP YSR Kadapa Dist, V Harshavardhan Raju; Additional SP- Tirupati, Venkat Rao. Other teammates are these inspectors and deputy superintendents who work in different districts of the country.
Naidu’s assertions lead to high controversy, former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy who was accused of embezzlement when in office rejected the allegations. It is politics in the name of God; the allegations leveled against me are completely false, and Naidu is a pathological and habitual liar, Reddy countered. The SIT would like to know the reality of these grave allegations.
