Swati Maliwal case: The accused Bibhav Kumar of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s has been released on bail the accused was alleged of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the chief minister residence.
The apex court while allowing the reinstatement of Bibhav Kumar, however, held that he cannot be appointed as a personal assistant to anyone or be posted on any assignment in the CMO.
In the first information report (FIR), Maliwal accused Kumar of slapping her 7-8 times, lunging at her, kicking her chest and pelvis besides pulling up her shirt when she had gone to meet the Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal on May 13.
According to the complaint of Maliwal, the Delhi Police arrested Kumar on 18 May.
The Delhi High Court had dismissed Kumar application to quash his arrest last month. Kumar wanted that his arrest is unlawful under section 41A of the CrPC. The Delhi Police countered that they acting legally and arrested Kumar in the legal manner. The Supreme Court later on raised eyebrows over the incident, wondered over the happenings at the Chief Minister’s residence and severely condemned Kumar.
