He was a former professor of the Department of Cultural and Creative Studies in the Delhi University, and a paraplegic activist, Gokarakonda Naga Saibaba, 57, died on Saturday as he developed complications following a gallbladder surgery in a Hyderabad hospital. Saibaba, who spent about 10 years on terror charges in jail before he was acquitted seven months ago, has complained of poor medical attention in the police and prison detention. His death has been compared to that of another Jesuit activist Stan Swamy who also passed away in judicial custody last year.
