Addressing a rally in Palwal in Haryana on Tuesday, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi attacked Congress for creating casteism and communalism in India. It was unclear who Modi’s comments were aimed at given Rahul Gandhi had urged the government to conduct a caste census recently. He focused on the idea that BJP has lovers, and all of them are patriots while Congress openly tries to blind the people.
He challenged Congress as the most untruthful party implying they often don’t deliver on their pledges most especially in Himachal Pradesh. He appealed for people to intensify and vote for a better future for the nation with focus on development, job creations and safety of women in Haryana.
He also mocked the Congress for misleading people and stopping others from earning their livelihood. Modi said that BJPs main agenda is hard work and performance whereas Congress’s main strategy is to give hope with no work. Citing factional fighting in the Haryana Congress led by Kumari Selja and Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Modi said that excluded groups including Dalits are unhappy with the party’s strategies.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also siding with Modi said that Congress has been following the the British policy of divide and rule. He lauded the government schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and several others saying they have transformed lives.
Haryana goes to the polls on October 5 and the BJP is seeking an unprecedented third term in office.
