Dussehra rallies expected to be spearheaded by two factions of Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde’s faction at the Azad Maidan and the slate of Uddhav Thackeray Thackeray at Shivaji park have caused the Mumbai Traffic Police to release guidelines concerning major traffic diversions, restrictions.
The diversions will begin at 9:At the same time police will block off some roads starting at 00 AM and will be opened up again after the traffic dies down on Saturday, October 12 till midnight. For Shinde faction rally to Azad Maidan, Vehicle from CSMT to Vasudev Balawant Phadake Chowk (Metro Junction) up to D.N Road & L.T Marg and vice versa it will be closed. Other diversions will be implemented for traffic from Chafekar Bandhu Chowk to CSMT Hutatma Chowk.
For the Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction rally at Shivaji Park the SVS Road from Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction to Kapad Bazar will be shut for vehicular movement. Raja Badhe Chowk to Keluskar Marg (North) Junction will also be closed. The motorists are urged to use L.J Road and Gokhale Road as the alternate routes with immediate effect.
Parking will be banned for some important roads such as the LJ Road starting from Rajbade Jct to Gadkari Jct, SVS Road near the Siddy Temple and MB Raut Road. Bal Govindas Marg, Dadasaheb Rege Road and another number of other roads in Dadar will also have no entry zones.
The advisory seeks to reduce interruption and establish order in flow of the many people expected to turn up at the two rallies.
